Douglas N Daft AC
Douglas N. Daft AC, 64, was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of The Coca-Cola Company from 2000 until 2004, when he retired from the company. Mr. Daft joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1969 in its Sydney office, and subsequently held various positions with the company throughout Asia. Mr. Daft moved to the company's Atlanta headquarters in 1991 to assume responsibility for the company's Asia and Pacific regions and thereafter took over responsibility for the company's Middle East and African regions as well. Mr. Daft was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of the company in 1999. Mr. Daft is a director of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., The McGraw-Hill Companies, and Sistema-Hals (the Russian real estate and construction group). Mr. Daft is an advisory board member for Longreach, Inc. (a Japan-based private equity firm) and London-based investment firm, Tisbury Capital Management.
Mr. Daft is also a member of the European Advisory Council for N.M. Rothschild & Sons Limited; an overseer board member for the International Business School of Brandeis University; a member of the Board of Governors of Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management in Arizona; chairman of the Advisory Board for the Churchill Archives Center, Churchill College, Cambridge; a Trustee of the Cambridge Foundation; and a Patron of the American Australian Association. In June 2005 Mr. Daft was awarded the Companion in the General Division of the Order of Australia, AC.
